Who we are

A young group with working businesses.

AKEMO Group AS is a Norwegian company founded in 2025. It runs the Kahawa Nzuri coffee brand and the Live Learn Inspire podcast, and works alongside AKEMO Ventures, a farming company in Uganda under the same founder.

We are early in our journey and say so plainly. On this site, every business and activity is labelled with its real status: operating, in development, or planned.

About AKEMO Group

Each business keeps its own brand and website. AKEMO Group provides strategy, partnerships and corporate structure.

AKEMO Ventures

A Ugandan agribusiness running a commercial maize farm of about 9.5 acres in Zirobwe, Luwero District, with poultry in development.

Associated company under common founder leadership. AKEMO Ventures Limited is not currently a subsidiary of AKEMO Group AS.

Kahawa Nzuri

Kahawa Nzuri means "good coffee" in Swahili. The brand sources specialty coffee from Uganda, starting with Bugisu coffee from Mount Elgon, for roasters and venues in Norway.

A brand operated by AKEMO Group AS.

Operating

Media & storytelling · Norway · international audience

Live Learn Inspire

A weekly interview podcast sharing inspiring, informative and educational stories about entrepreneurship, culture, resilience and growth.

A media brand operated by AKEMO Group AS.

How the businesses connect

  1. Produce AKEMO Ventures Commercial farming and agricultural value chains Uganda
  2. Trade Kahawa Nzuri Traceable East African coffee for Nordic buyers Uganda → Norway
  3. Tell Live Learn Inspire Stories that build audiences, trust and partnerships Norway → worldwide

The three businesses share a direction, not a supply chain. Kahawa Nzuri's coffee currently comes from partner co-operatives on Mount Elgon, not from the AKEMO Ventures farm.

The Norway–East Africa corridor

Production in Uganda. Buyers, partners and capital in the North.

Uganda has fertile land, a long coffee-growing tradition and a young, entrepreneurial population. Norway and the Nordics have demanding buyers, strong institutions and patient capital. Too few businesses work seriously across both.

AKEMO Group is based in Oslo and operates in Uganda. That lets us do the practical work in between: sourcing and quality on the ground, and sales, compliance and partnerships in Norway. We start with Uganda, where we have operations, and expand only where we have the people and partners to do it well.

Our approach

How we intend to create value.

  1. Start with operations

We build from businesses that already work, such as a producing farm and paying coffee customers, rather than from concepts.

  2. Say what is real

We separate what is operating from what is planned, and we publish no figure we cannot document.

  3. Grow through partners

Farmers, buyers, lenders and investors each bring something we cannot build alone. We look for partnerships that work for both sides.

  4. Think in decades

Agriculture and brands reward patience. We take on growth at a pace our governance and people can support.
